In preparation for The Super, Tabitha has diligently researching, spending nearly five years researching the conjuring process needed to bring the show into fruition. She continually studied and utilized resources from different locales. She also tapped into inspiration from the creative industry in Zambia and from world renowned artists.

Besides having talent, the team needed the right tools to create a prototype of the show. When Tabitha and Misheck found the right collaboration of talented creatives, they quickly found the materials from the local artists to give the show an original feel.

With the help of her team, Tabitha was determined to make sure their show resonates with the culture in Zambia, and they wanted to respectfully represent their culture and art. The practice of storytelling has a long history in Zambia, and Tabitha wanted to convey that in her series.

Tabitha Mawale, a 20-year-old in Lusaka, Zambia’s capital, is deeply invested in the realization of her dream of creating a supernatural animated show that will captivate the local viewers. From extensive research to finding the right combination of talent and enthusiasm, Tabitha and her team are on their way to bringing The Super, Zambia’s first animation show, to local audiences.

Misheck Chiza Banda, an editor and director of documentaries in Zambia, has directed the short movie On The Road, created to challenge gender stereotypes. It was produced by Africa Direct. Alongside his team, Tabitha has spent nearly five years researching the techniques necessary to bring their show to life. To achieve this, they were inspired by artists from Zambia, and from a variety of different places around the world.

Producing an animated show requires the right set of resources and tools. Thankfully, they found a collaboration of talented local creatives who provided them with the materials needed to bring the concept to life. Tabitha wanted to ensure that The Super resonates with Zambian culture, while respectfully representing the culture and art of the Zambian people. Storytelling is an important aspect of Zambian culture, and Tabitha was devoted to reflecting that in the show.

With dedication, talent, and perseverance, Tabitha and her team are on their way to achieving their goal of producing the first Zambian animation show.
