Kentaro Yabuki’s manga Ayakashi Triangle, which debuted in January, is returning to its original 12-episode broadcasting schedule, beginning July 10. The website is streaming promotional videos for the forthcoming broadcasts. Due to the effects of COVID-19, the fifth episode was postponed in January; however, the fourth episode aired as scheduled on January 30, while the fifth episode airs on March 6 following delays. The sixth episode aired on March 13, and instead of the seventh episode airing on March 20th, a recap episode of the first six episodes was shown that day. An additional special episode was then broadcasted the following week. The Blu-ray disc/DVD first volume of the series was delayed to September 27, with the second and sixth months’ volumes delayed from November 2023 to February 2024.

The series premiered on 9 January in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming the show worldwide as it airs. Noriaki Akitaya (Bakuman., Castle Town Dandelion, Slow Loop) is directing the anime in CONNECT with Kei Umabiki as the assistant director. Shogo Yasukawa (Hyperdimension Neptunia, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, The Executioner and Her Style of Living) is in charge of the series’ scripts, and Hideki Furukawa (Strike The Blood III IV FINAL, Battle Girl High School, Invaders from the Rokujyoma!?) is creating the characters. Jin Aketagawa is the sound director, and Rei Ishizuka (The Story of a Couple of Cuckoos, PriPara) is composing the music. Viz Media and Shueisha are both publishing the manga digitally in English, and physical and digital English compilations are being published by Seven Seas.

The story follows a teenage ninja exorcist, Kazamaki Matsuri, who is part of an elite group tasked with battling ayakashi—spirits that threaten Japan. His close relationship to his schoolmate and spirit medium Kanade Suzu draws the attention of a powerful cat ayakashi who promises to separate the two lovers by performing a forbidden spell which transforms Matsuri into a woman. With no way to reverse the curse, Matsuri must continue to battle ayakashi and attend school as a female until she is able to find a method to restore her original form.
